With the year winding down it was a quick meeting of the New Washington Village Council Monday night. The 2015 appropriations were passed and clerk Julie Cronau said they were practically identical to the 2014 appropriations.

Joe Blum brought a bid to council for the replacement of the state championship signs at the edges of town. The current sign, hosting all three state titles, was purchased in 1996 with a 17-year life. Blum found a company in Findlay to make four replacements signs for $846. The signs were approved.

Mayor Ben Lash reported that the first round of police interviews has been completed and the Village is “moving forward.”

During the ambulance report, Steve Aicholz stated that the ambulance board is continuing to look at satellite stations for the northeastern part of the county. Also, first responder school started Monday and thirteen students are enrolled; eight residents of New Washington and five from outside the Village.
