BUCYRUS—Following a brief postponement, the trial for a Bucyrus man is set to begin Thursday, January 26th at 8:30 am in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court with Judge Sean Leuthold presiding.

Anthony Morgan, 53, 627 W. Mansfield St., faces a charge of reckless homicide, a third-degree felony, in connection with the May 18th, 2022, death of his wife, Jennifer Morgan, 49. If convicted, Morgan faces up to 36 months in prison.

According to Prosecutor Matt Crall, Jennifer Morgan was lying in her bed on May 18th when Anthony Morgan, who was playing with the scope on his gun, dropped the weapon on the floor.

As he rose from the floor, he placed his hands on the bed, and the weapon discharged.

Morgan is represented by Mansfield attorney James Mayer III.

Efforts to obtain a comment from Mr. Mayer regarding the upcoming trial were unanswered.
