GALION—The Northmor Board of Education held their monthly meeting on Tuesday evening.

The state recently passed amended educational requirements for substitute teachers due to the shortage, and Northmor adopted the resolution for the 2021-2022 school year.

The resolution allows for anyone the district deems educationally and morally suitable to work as a substitute. Northmor has set the requirements to where the individual needs the equivalent of an associate degree, which is forty-eight semester hours or seventy-two quarterly hours, and the individual must complete a criminal records check.

Superintendent Chad Redmon gave the board an update on COVID cases within the school district. There are currently three students from seventh through twelfth grade who tested positive and one staff member within the district who tested positive.
