Chrysalis Advantage Point will be opening its doors soon but first it’s inviting the public to find out about its new Day Habilitation Program.

Chrysalis Advantage Point, also known as CAP, intends to provide person-centered programs that specialize in assisting individuals with becoming independent in day-to-day, vocational, and personal skills.

Day Habilitation provides individuals with services that focuses on community connections and vocational opportunities. The services can be provided at the CAP facility or within the community to learn new skills. According to the CAP website, participants “have the opportunity to explore new areas of interest; become more involved within their communities; develop communication and interpersonal skills; and set and pursue personal goals.”

Daily activities, which can vary day to day and are based upon an individual’s needs and interests, could include volunteering, social development, and job skill training.

Amanda Moran, Director of CAP, is working on the project with Kimm Kessinger, owner of Abilities in Action, an employment agency serving individuals with disabilities.

The community open house will take place from 2 – 4 p.m. on Nov. 22 at 1890 Bucyrus-Nevada Rd., Bucyrus. Pizza, ice cream, and giveaways will be available.

CAP will offer services to individuals in Crawford, Wyandot, and Marion counties. For more information, contact Moran at 419-569-8664, visit CAP’s website at www.capoint.org, or head to CAP’s Facebook page.
