NEW WASHINGTON—At Thursday night’s board of education meeting, a new member was appointed to fill the vacant seat.
Mike Kalb, who has previously served on the district’s board of education, was selected to fill the spot left after former board president, Missy McDougal, resigned in order to become the next varsity head volleyball coach. Kalb’s term is from February 11 through to December 31, 2021.
Superintendent, Mr. Mark Robinson, told the board that with Allerton-Hill Communications, the school will be revamping its website and will also be creating a Buckeye Central app. The app will have all the important information for everyone in the district.
The school will be getting new Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. Any teacher, staff member, board member, parent, etc. can send a picture to @bcbucks.org with a description of who is in the picture or what is going on, and it will be put out on all social media platforms.
In Mr. Robinson’s facilities update, he said that aside from the outside wing, the Pre-K/K area is done. Once the outside wing is done, that parking lot and entrance will be available to use.
The projected completion date for the STEAM lab is Friday, March 15 with all equipment being installed the following Monday.
The projected completion date for the board office is March 28, though it is expected that that date may be pushed back to mid-March.
Robinson suspects that the bus garage will also be done in mid-March.
Registration information on Buckeye’s preschool, “Bitty Bucks” will be sent out next week, with registration beginning on March 5. Tuition dates will be kept the same at 90 dollars/half-day and 140 dollars/day.
The next board meeting is on March 11 at 7 p.m.
