CRESTLINE — After nearly a year with an interim mayor, the Village of Crestline once again has a mayor in place for the next four years.
Linda Horning Pitt took her oath of office for the position Monday afternoon while being sworn-in by Crawford County Common Pleas Judge Sean Leuthold.
“Some cities have public officials who do not show up for work. We don’t have that problem in Crawford County because our elected officials take their jobs very seriously,” Leuthold said. “All of our public officials work hard for the citizens they represent.”
Pitt, who grew up in Crestline, said she is looking forward to serving the citizens of Crestline.
“We have a lot of good people in place to facilitate positive change and growth for our village,” Pitt said. “Crestline is already on the right track with many exciting things happening and I will continue on that path.”
Lifelong Crestline resident Miranda Lash said she is ready for healing and positive change in the village.
“Linda will do a great job as mayor,” Lash said. “Things will be better than they have been in the past.”
Village Administrator John Rostash said he is looking forward to working with Pitt.
“She is going to be a great asset for the village,” Rostash said.
Pat Armstrong of the Crawford County Board of Elections was on hand to present Pitt with a framed Certificate of Election.
Council members Kevin Eckert and Michael Weisman also were sworn in by Leuthold during the ceremony.
