BUCYRUS—Darius Thompson, 56, of Crestline, found himself in more trouble in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.
Just days ago, Thompson pleaded guilty to two fourth-degree felony drug trafficking charges.
Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Thompson to 15 months in prison on each count for a total of 30 months in prison.
Judge Leuthold granted Thompson a report date in 90 days so he could seek medical treatment for prostate cancer.
According to Prosecutor Matt Crall, Thompson got a new charge of possession of drugs less than a week after being given the report date. The new charge is a fifth-degree felony and punishable with up to 12 months in prison.
Judge Leuthold entered a not guilty plea on Thompson’s behalf and appointed his current attorney Bailey Higgins to represent him on the new charge.
Leuthold expressed his disappointment in Thompson:
“The court has made it clear, and I’ve made it very clear I am concerned about his health. I am also concerned about the safety of the public. He was supposed to be seeking medical attention. It is alleged he was using meth and driving while impaired.”
Judge Leuthold set bond on the new case at $35,000 and set the former case for a hearing addressing the revocation of Thompson’s bond and report date to prison.
Robin Hall, 33, of Lancaster, was arraigned on one count of possession of drugs (fentanyl), a felony of the fifth degree punishable with up to 12 months in prison.
Judge Leuthold entered a not guilty plea on her behalf and appointed attorney Neil Huggins to represent her. Judge Leuthold set Hall’s bond at $15,000.00.
