This week, the Ohio Board of Regents awarded $60,000 to North Central State College for Choose Ohio First Scholarships for the upcoming school year.
Choose Ohio First scholarships are awarded to continuing students studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) coursework at the college level. Eligible students must have completed 12 hours of college credit, with at least a 2.5 G.P.A. At NC State, continuing students in Visual Communication Media Technology (VCMT), Information Technology (ITEC), and Bioscience (BIOS) programs are eligible, and encouraged, to apply.
Greg Timberlake, Academic Dean was excited to hear of the scholarships, “In a nutshell … a student attending full time could receive [up to] $1,500 each semester which is a big scholarship. These dollars will help a lot of students here at the college.”
To be eligible to receive an award for Fall Semester, students must complete the application process by August 1, 2014. The application is available online at www.ncstatecollege.edu/scholarships, or in the Financial Aid office in Kee Hall on the main campus.
