Press release
The recent closure of ITT Technical Institute centers across the country has left thousands of students seeking ways to complete their education. North Central State College stands ready to assist these students in exploring opportunities at NC State and beyond.
Dr. Dorey Diab, President of NC State is determined to help, “It’s unfortunate that so many students have been affected by the ITT closures. Our team will assist these students in
exploring credit transfer through a number of ways so that they might continue to pursue their academic goals. We cannot promise outcomes, or that it will be easy in every instance. But we can promise to provide assistance in every possible way.”
The Ohio Association of Community Colleges is working with member institutions to provide guidance, and structure to the process for ITT students interested in transitioning to Community Colleges. Jack Hershey, President of OACC added, “Ohio’s community colleges want to help these students and, in fact, are already setting up rapid response teams to provide admissions, financial aid and academic and career advisors to assist these students.”
Approximately 2,000 students in Ohio were enrolled in ITT at the time the closure occurred.
