BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—North Central State College’s Crawford Success Center is highlighting a month of opportunity for local students, headlined by the annual Foundation Scholarship drive and new workforce credentialing programs.
The scholarship application window, which runs through March 1, offers Crawford County residents a “one-stop” chance to apply for a pool of nearly $400,000 in aid. According to Chris Copper, Vice President of the NC State Foundation, the application takes less than 10 minutes and covers all available foundation awards.
“This scholarship is the X-factor for many of our students,” said Nate Harvey, Manager of the Crawford Success Center. “Whether you’re a working adult or a high school senior, this is the funding that closes the gap.”
The Center is also touting its “Turbo Cert” partnership with the Mid-Ohio Education Service Center. The program allows high school juniors and seniors to earn professional certificates in high-demand fields like phlebotomy, advanced robotics, drone operation, and 5G readiness every Friday at the Bucyrus campus.
Additionally, the college will host its 8th annual “Scholarships for Success” auction and leadership event on March 5. This year’s event will honor local leader Fred Fisher, with proceeds directly benefiting Crawford County students.
Registration for the summer semester begins in May, and college officials encourage prospective students to visit the center at 130 N. Walnut St. to begin the enrollment process.
