The Bucyrus chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed six new members Wednesday evening and inductees were encouraged to be “open to the unknown.”

Max Miller was the keynote speaker. Miller, who graduated from Bucyrus in 2006 and later The Ohio State University, served the Peace Corps in Cameroon where he taught science. Miller discussed the meaning of sacrifice and described his experience as “the hardest job you’ll ever love.”

The National Honor Society focuses on character, scholarship, leadership and service. Bucyrus High School Principal Dr. Mark Burke introduced the members of the Bucyrus chapter.

One of the newest members of the National Honor Society, Mark Musick, shared his thoughts on the induction following the ceremony.

“Definitely an honor, I’m glad I made it up here with my friends,” Musick said. “We’re definitely proud to be here and we just hope that we can help the other people out and hope that we take over next year and become leaders throughout the school.”
