Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel on Market Street in Galion is sponsoring its seventh annual Music in the Park event for the Galion area community. The free summer concert series will be held at Heise Park band shell next to the Galion Community Center-Y at 500 Gill Avenue every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. beginning June 7 and running through July 5.
Jerry and Donna James, a Galion couple who take advantage of the summer outdoor music festival, have enjoyed every show they have attended. “It’s very good entertainment,” said Jerry. “Never had a bad one (concert) yet!”
Donna agreed, saying, “We really enjoy them, and it’s cheap entertainment. It’s a good way to spend a summer evening.”
This year’s line-up includes:
- Showtunes Vocal Group from Galion High School on June 7, followed by Vision Show Choir from Colonel Crawford High School and the Galion High School Jazz Band.
- On June 14, the Crazy Gringos will perform their funky combination of blues, modern rock, classic rock, reggae, originals, Latin, country, Motown, jazz, and the old standbys.
- June 21 will feature music from the Ribticklers..
- Memories of Elvis, featuring Paul Royce will take the stage on June 28.
- Once again, dynamic duo Darryl and Andrea Gatlin will wrap up the festival on July 5.
“We are very pleased to sponsor Music in the Park which promotes music and the arts in our community and showcases the local talent in our area,” said Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel director, Chuck Jackson.
All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. For any questions about the event, call Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel at 419-468-1424.
