BUCYRUS—The COVID-19 pandemic has warranted the cancellation of many events throughout the summer but there is one event in Bucyrus that has brought joy and peace to many: Music at the Mural.
Bucyrus Area Chamber of Commerce Director Jessie Furner said music is the ultimate unifier.
“To quote Shakespeare, ‘If music be the food of love, then play on.’ Right now, couldn’t Bucyrus use a little more music, food and love? It knows no language, political party or skin color. Live music is for everyone to experience,” said Furner.
She said Music at the Mural is now being held at Schine’s Art Park where there is plenty of room to spread out and some places where people can watch from their vehicle.
“We will have free masks on the stage if you do not have one. Please follow social distancing practices! Bring a chair or blanket and spread out,” said Furner.
She said the new stage at the art park, donated to the city by North Central State College, was christened a few weeks ago when the Bound by Love duo of LorrieAnn and Chad Brown performed on the stage. The Rolling Hams performed last Thursday and next up is the Lesser Known Poets scheduled to perform on Aug. 20 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
“The Mad Love Food Truck and Mark’s Homemade were at the event on Aug. 6 for the Rolling Hams, and might be back on Aug. 20 for the performance of the Lesser Known Poets,” said Furner. “Please come up to Schine’s Art Park to jam out with your fellow Bucyrians! Put all of your worries and differences aside and enjoy a live local band.”
