Marion, Ohio — Marion Technical College kicked the fall semester off with a bang. Nearly 893 new students enrolled at MTC this fall, bringing the total student population to about 2,500 students from across the state.

Included in this number are 521 new College Credit Plus (CCP) students. That means that these high school students are gaining tuition-free college credit and getting a jump start on their four year college goals and/or future career path.

“It’s amazing to see the growth in this program,” said Dr. Vicky Wood, Vice President and Chief Academic Officer for MTC of CCP. “There is no better way to tackle college costs than to get an associate’s degree for free before you graduate from high school.”

MTC serves more than 30 high schools. College Credit Plus has increased by about 100 students this year.

The highest proportion of MTC students live in Marion County (1,200 students), but the College attracts students from across the state, including 150 students from Crawford County. MTC also draws students from Delaware (175), Franklin (75), Hardin (25), Knox (75), Morrow (350), Union (100), and Wyandot (175).

Sign-ups for College Credit Plus are still going on. To learn more about getting your associate’s degree while still in high school, call MTC at 740-389-4636 or email enroll@mtc.edu.
