MOUNT GILEAD—With the final approval from the Fair Board, the 2022 Village of Mount Gilead Fireworks will be displayed on Sunday, July 3, at 9:45 PM.
They will be launched from the hilltop behind the grandstands just as they have the past two years.
The infield will be open to those wishing to get front-row seats and will be free to the public to enter. The infield is the grassy area inside the horse track.
Costs have gone up 30 percent.
Village Council has committed $10,000, just as it did last year. Last year they also raised an additional $10,000 from community support for a total show cost of $20,000. To have a similar shell count as last year, the Village will need to be at $26,000.
For the month of April and May, the Village will accept donations towards this year’s fireworks display. Checks can be made to the Village of Mount Gilead. The memo line should read: Fireworks.
