Fans of flat track motorcycle racing will be in for a treat Saturday as the All-Star National Flat Track Series returns for a second year to the Crawford County Fairgrounds.

Gates for the races will open at 1 p.m. with practices beginning at 4, and races to start at 7. Admission for the races are $15 for general admission and $25 for the pit pass. Those 5 and under will be admitted for free.

Crawford County Fair Board Secretary/Treasurer Tom Laughbaum explained that the motorcycle races are used to help fund renovations to buildings on the fair grounds.

“Last year we had weather that wasn’t quite the greatest,” Laughbaum said. “We made $5,000 last year; hopefully we can maybe double that. It is just another fundraiser that we are trying to do so we can work on some of the buildings.”

With numerous events taking place in the area Saturday re-entry will be allowed at the event.

JR AddisonBucyrus resident J.R. Addison will be racing at the event. Currently Addison is ranked 17 in the Super Singles with 10 points and 32 in Pro Singles with 5 points.

In case of rain canceling the event Saturday, Sunday has been selected as the make-up date with gates opening at 9 a.m., practice beginning at 11, and races to begin at 1 p.m.
