BUCYRUS — The Motor Ranch in Bucyrus is “revving up” its service department.

The used car dealership, located at 1825 E. Mansfield St., has installed two new service bays and two additional lifts, along with state-of-the-art maintenance equipment, according to president J.R. Jenney.

“Everybody sees us driving by, but I don’t think everyone knows we’re open to the public for service, too” said Jenney, who opened the service department about six years ago. “We have the capacity and the technicians to do that now.”

In the last few months, the Motor Ranch’s service department has grown to include seven full- and part-time mechanics, Jenney said, who specialize in multiple services including oil changes, brake work and tire alignments.

As part of the upgrades, a new tire machine and tire balancer have also been installed, according to service manager Tyson Griffin. “It’s grown so much,” he said, “and really, I think one of the main things is getting our name out there.”

The body shop side of the operation debuted about three years ago with only one bay, Griffin said. Nowadays customers waiting on their vehicles also have access to a lounge complete with a fireplace, leather couches and flat-screen televisions.

The business, based at Ohio Specialty Services, is housed in a 30,000-square-foot facility. The Motor Ranch also operates a Galion location at 245 Harding Way West, as well as locations in nearby Chatfield and Marion.

“We service approximately 30 to 40 cars a month through here,” Griffin said. “We’ve done really well with it and, fortunately, we’ve been able to expand it and offer much more for the public.”
