BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)–A Morral woman appeared in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court for sentencing on Wednesday.
Barbara Armstrong, 76, was originally indicted in Crawford County in September 2024. Armstrong, along with her husband Thomas Armstrong were charged with various counts of telecommunications fraud, theft, securities fraud, and the sale of unregistered securities.
Armstrong, represented by attorney Joel Spitzer presented the court with a sentencing memorandum emphasizing her lack of a criminal record, her intent to pay restitution, and the fact that her husband, now deceased, orchestrated the entire scheme.
Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold ordered Armstrong to pay restitution of approximately $500,000.00. He also sentenced her to six months in the Crawford County Jail; her report date is April 17. Following her sentence, she will remain on probation.
