A representative from Bucyrus Community Hospital was introduced to the Central Joint Ambulance District Board during their monthly meeting Wednesday night.

It was explained during the meeting that Cindy Crickl was brought on board to aid in communication in case a variance were to jeopardize patient care.

Cricl, who has 32 years of nursing experience, explained her approach to the CJAD.

“When I took the job in Bucyrus she was very impressed with how the community hospital does very well specializing in trauma and strokes,” Crickl said. “I also believe in collaboration.”

Crickl finished by telling the CJAD that she is open to ideas and suggestions to help make the emergency room run more smooth.

During LifeStar’s report it was announced that the organization went through a medical director change with Dr. Daniel Shwerin taking over the post. LifeStar reported that both LifeStar stations and vehicles passed state inspections.

The month of September realized a decline in emergency calls from LifeStar with 160 calls and 117 transported.

During new business the CJAD board discussed and then approved moving meetings forward due to Daylight Savings Time. As a result the next meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 at the Plymouth Street Station in Bucyrus.
