BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—After a brief closure, Crawford County residents can once again turn to a familiar, trusted healthcare provider: Nurse Practitioner Nikki Wolfe. With over 24 years of healthcare experience—including 14 years of military service as both an Army medic and a commissioned officer in the Nurse Corps—Nikki brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to the community she calls home.

Her path in healthcare began as a nurse’s aide while in college. She went on to graduate with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005, then earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 2014, becoming a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. “I’ve always had a passion for helping people,” Nikki shared. “When I was an RN, I felt limited in how much I could help, so becoming a provider seemed like the natural next step.”

A Crawford County resident for 19 years, Nikki chose this community for its strong connections and the opportunity to address real health challenges. “When I first moved here, we had a significant opioid epidemic,” she explained. “It’s improving, but there’s still work to do, and I’ll be providing medication-assisted treatment locally, especially for those facing transportation challenges.”

Her clinic, Bucyrus Health & Wellness Center, located at 2458 Stetzer Road, Bucyrus, OH 44820, offers far more than standard family care. Nikki provides joint injections, small procedures, biopsies, female exams, and incorporates natural and homeopathic approaches where appropriate. “I want to help patients explore alternatives to excessive medications,” she said, emphasizing a more holistic approach to care.

Nikki also recognizes the broader health challenges facing Crawford County, such as obesity and limited access to fresh foods. Her advice is straightforward: “Stop making your food from a box. Simple steps can make a big difference in your health over time.”

Outside the clinic, Nikki’s life is centered around her family and faith. She and her husband, a local police lieutenant, are raising four children—one son and three daughters. Her son, the oldest, recently graduated from Wynford High School and will be attending Hocking College this fall to study Fire/EMS. His plan is to return to Crawford County after graduation to serve the community as well. Her three daughters also attend Wynford schools, and Nikki is an active member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky. “If I’m not working, I’m with my kids or at church,” she said.

The Bucyrus Health & Wellness Center is now accepting both new and returning patients. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 419-834-8889. Nikki also makes a point to connect with residents beyond the clinic, participating in community events such as the Crawford County Fair and the Bratwurst Fest.

With deep roots in the community, a lifetime of experience, and a passion for helping others, Nikki Wolfe is more than a healthcare provider—she’s a partner in wellness, a trusted neighbor, and a source of hope for Crawford County families.
