The Buckeye Central Board of Education didn’t waste time getting a start on planning for the 2014 fiscal year by holding its organizational meeting Thursday night.
New members Steve Aichholz, Elizabeth Diesch and Chris Martin were sworn in by Treasurer Nancy Ackerman.
The new school board then elected Missy McDougal as board president and Aichholz as board vice president.
Appointments were cast voluntarily with Chris Martin being appointed Buckeye Central OSBA Legislative Liaison. Elizabeth Diesch OSBA Student Achievement Liaison, as well as Policy Sub Committee with Steve Aichholz, Missy McDougal will serve as Negotiations Representative and Athletic Booster Representative. Mike Kalb will serve as Music Booster Representative.
After approving appointments, the new school board approved all items on the consent agenda including establishing a legal assistance fund at $3,500 and retaining law firms Bricker and Eckler, LLP; Squire, Sanders, and Dempsy, LLP; and Scott, Scriven and Wahoff, LLP as Legal Counsel.
The board also approved continuing to hold its regular monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. at 7 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room.
