BUCYRUS— I have attached another copy of the Comparative statement of Cash Position to respond to the claim that we “have the money” to continue to spend $400,000 in FD overtime pay. You can see that the funds available for general government have been reduced by $329,000 since 2022, and this is before the $238,000 back pay that was awarded to the FD. Pensions of 24% will be reduce cash by another $60,000 soon. We do have $446,000 available in ARPA funds, but do we want to use that last amount of cash for overtime or have it in reserve in case we have emergency repairs to any building? Keep in mind that $400,000 was deleted from the 2023 budget for maintenance and repairs, and don’t forget that the pool won’t open this year.
The above amount must last through most of next year, and I am asking you to look at the funds that are available one more time.
