MARION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State University at Marion has named Ashley Marsh, Director of Enrollment, the recipient of the 2025 Ohio State Marion Outstanding Staff Award. The honor recognizes Marsh’s leadership in driving significant campus growth and her long-standing commitment to the Marion community.

A lifelong Marion resident and Pleasant High School alumna, Marsh’s career at the university began as a student “Buckeye Ambassador.” She now leads the very department where she started, overseeing a period of historic growth.

Under Marsh’s direction, Ohio State Marion saw a 9% increase in total enrollment for the current year, bringing the student body to 926—its highest level since 2022. While national college-going rates continue to face downward pressure, Marsh led the campus to an 18% surge in new first-year freshmen.

“Ashley has always been an outstanding staff member, and we believe she is exceptionally deserving of this award,” said nominators Kelly Crum, Karlie Marlatt, and Gavin Smith in a joint statement.

Marsh is credited with spearheading a campus texting program now used across all Ohio State regional campuses and coordinating the inaugural Alber Scholars Program. Her collaborative approach across departments—including marketing, advising, and student life—is cited as a primary factor in the university’s recent success.
