MARION – Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a fatal crash that occurred 011 January 21, 2021, at approximately 9:50 pm on North Main Street at Fairground Street in Marion, Ohio.
The crash involved a 2003 Ford Escape driven by Michael Abrams, 54, of Marion, Ohio. The second vehicle involved was a 2007 Honda Odyssey driven by Edward Bruce, 37, of Marion, Ohio. The front passenger of the Honda was Jessica Larcom, 32, of Marion, Ohio.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the Honda was northbound on North Main Street. The Ford was westbound on Fairground Street. The Honda failed to yield for a red traffic signal and struck the Ford before coming to its final rest in the roadway. The Ford overturned and came to final rest on its right side in the roadway.
Mr. Bruce and Ms. Larcom did not sustain any injuries at the time of the crash. Mr. Abrams was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Marion County Coroner Dr. Mark Davis. Mr. Abrains was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Marion Police Department, Marion City Fire and EMS, Marion Township Fire Department, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office. The crash remains under investigation.
