MARION—The Marion City School Board voted Thursday to accept the resignation of a bus driver who is at the center of a criminal investigation into child pornography.

Marion City School Bus driver Michael MacKay was charged with two felony counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance.
Officers seized phones and electronics from MacKay, but the Multi-County Jail would not accept him into jail due to medical issues.
According to sources, MacKay is recovering from back surgery.
Crawford County Now reached out to Outgoing Superintendent Dr. Iarussi as well as Board President Kelly MacKay (who is Michael MacKay’s sister-in-law) to find out if MacKay is still receiving any benefits from the district and how a potential conviction would affect future benefits.
Ms. MacKay directed our questions to Superintendent Iarussi.
We were unable to reach him for comment.
Iarussi’s resignation is effective July 31st.
MacKay’s first pretrial is scheduled for June 24th.
Crawford County Now will continue to cover this developing news story.
