Teresa Giummo appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday for a simple arraignment on a charge of felony 2 burglary. But then again nothing is as simple as it seems.
Giummo pleaded not guilty to the charge. If convicted, Giummo could be sent to prison for as long as eight years. Judge Russell Wiseman appointed Rolf Whitney to defend Giummo and then asked for a bond recommendation for Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Hoovler which is where things became complicated.
Hoovler asked only for personal recognizance, considered low for that degree of felony. It was discovered that Giummo had already spent time in prison for another conviction and had been held upon her release in Morrow and Crawford counties for not paying fines during her incarceration.
Wiseman told Giummo, “I suggest you change your act because this isn’t working out for you.”
