MARION—This morning, the Marion Police Department at Harding High School held a seat belt check with the help of the students from Harding’s TI program. The event was aimed at promoting safe driving practices among the students.
All students, whether they were drivers or passengers, who entered the school’s parking lot were given a raffle ticket to win a prize. The prizes were donated by local businesses including Jerzee, Taste of Memphis, Sansotta’s, Andrew’s Pastries, Remnant Tea and Coffee, Dairy Queen, and the City of Marion. The school administration thanked the community for their continued support of the school’s programs.
The event also featured distracted driving simulators from Maria’s Message and impaired driver googles. These tools provided students with a first-hand experience of the dangers of distracted and impaired driving.
