MARION—The Marion Police Department is excited to recognize the 2022 Officer of the Year, Officer Dan Ice.
Officer Ice was nominated by his supervisors and selected through a vote of all department members for this honor.
Officer Ice started his career with MPD in March of 1998. During his time here, he has served as a detective in the MARMET Drug Taskforce, a Field Training Officer and as a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT).
Officer Ice graduated from Shelby High School in 1989 and served four years in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal. He was an officer with the Lexington Police Department for two years before joining Marion PD.
Officer Ice is very well-respected by his peers and throughout the department. He is very well-deserving of this honor.
