MARION— The Marion Fire Department and accompanying agencies investigated a fatal fire in Marion on Monday.
On Monday, May 9th, at 5:00 am, units from the Marion Fire Department were dispatched to 960 Bryant St. for a report of a travel trailer on fire.

During the response, units received an update stating that an occupant may still be inside the camper.
The first unit arrived at 5:04 am and found a fifth-wheel camper in the back yard of the residence, which was heavily involved in fire.

Bystanders on the scene reported one occupant had escaped the fire, but another occupant was still inside.
Firefighters extinguished the flames in a few minutes. Unfortunately, the body of one deceased female occupant was found inside. The victim has not yet been identified.

An investigation into this incident is being conducted by members of the Marion Fire Department, Marion Police Department, and the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
