MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)– The Renaissance Theatre concludes its 2023-24 Mechanics Bank Education Series Teddy Bear Concerts with a finale exploring the science behind music. “The Science of Sound” takes place on Sunday, April 28th at 2:30 PM at Theatre 166 (166 Park Avenue West, Mansfield).

This interactive concert, presented in partnership with Buckeye Imagination Museum, is designed for children ages 2-10. Young audience members will see, hear, and even feel sound waves through demonstrations and activities led by Buckeye Imagination Museum Executive Director Fred Boll. Musicians from the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra will bring the science of sound to life through live music and audience participation.

The Teddy Bear Concert series provides a relaxed and welcoming environment for children, with small audience sizes, bright lights, and low sound levels. Sensory-safe spaces are also available for attendees with autism or sensory processing disorders.

“The Science of Sound” Teddy Bear Concert offers a unique opportunity for children to experience symphonic instruments, live acting, and the fundamentals of music firsthand. Space is limited to ensure an engaging performance, so interested families are encouraged to purchase tickets early.

Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the Renaissance Box Office (138 Park Avenue West, Mansfield), by phone at (419) 522-2726, or online at rentickets.org.

The Renaissance Theatre’s Teddy Bear Concert series is generously supported by Mechanics Bank, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the Ohio Arts Council, and Sharon Granter in memory of her late husband, Don.
