Jennifer Mink may have missed Thanksgiving with her family, but she will be home for Christmas. The 30-year-old Mansfield woman went home Tuesday after her motion for early release from prison was granted in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.

Mink was sentenced in August to 36 months in prison following her conviction on a third-degree felony charge of illegal conveyance of drugs into a correctional facility. In February Mink was caught with Xanax in the Crawford County jail.

Judge Russell Wiseman placed Mink on five years of community control and ordered her to undergo a drug and alcohol assessment along with any recommended follow-up treatment.

Another woman’s legal troubles may be on the verge of getting a lot worse.

Twenty-three-year-old Kayla St. Clair appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday on charges she violated terms of her community control.

St. Clair was placed on three years of community control in August following her conviction of fifth-degree felony theft and ordered to pay restitution. St. Clair is charged with a number of violations since August including the fraudulent use of a debit card belonging to a family member.

St. Clair faces the possibility of going to prison on the original conviction and could conceivably be charged with another felony if the allegations regarding the debit card are proven.

Geoff Stoll was appointed to represent St. Clair. Judge Russell Wiseman set bond at $50,000 in the case.
