MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings (MSYS), a talented ensemble of young musicians from the North Central Ohio area, will take the stage for their fall concert under the direction of Alora Eyerly. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 3:30 PM at the Lexington High School Auditorium, located at 103 Clever Lane in Lexington, Ohio.

The MSYS, which includes approximately 20 middle and junior high school string musicians, will perform a diverse selection of pieces designed to get attendees into the Christmas spirit early. The program will feature arrangements of Angels We Have Heard on High by Elliot Del Borgo, Fantasy on Greensleeves by Mark Williams, Sweet Petite Winter Suite by Brian Balmages, Star Dancer by Mark Williams, December Fanfare by Andrew Dabczynski, Scarborough Fair by Brian Balmages, and A Christmas Symphony by Elliot Del Borgo.

The MSYS includes some of North Central Ohio’s finest string musicians, primarily in middle and junior high school who perform concerts onstage at the Renaissance and in the community.

“We hope to get you into the Christmas spirit early this year with classics that you all know and some new ones, too!” said Alora Eyerly, MSYS director and conductor.

The MSYS is a vital part of the Mansfield Symphony’s Education initiative, offering participating students the opportunity for musical growth by rehearsing and performing with peers from the region.
