MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Renaissance Theatre will present the Tony Award-winning musical “Once” in an intimate production at Theatre 166.
The limited-engagement run will include performances on March 28, 29, April 4, 5, 11 and 12, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
Set in Dublin, “Once” tells the story of an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant whose shared love of music sparks a friendship and romance. The musical features the Academy Award-winning song “Falling Slowly.”
The Renaissance production, directed by Michael Thomas, will feature a cast that performs the music live onstage.
The cast includes Noah Sgambellone as Guy, Daniella Rukin as Girl, Clayton Matthews as Svec, Caroline Grace Williams as Reza, Jenna Krivosh as Ex-Girlfriend, Drew Traxler as Bank Manager, Bradwin Amos as Billy, Joshua Screen as Andrej, Stephanie Hayslip as Baruska, Michael Thomas as Da/Eamon, Allie Carter as Siobhan and Evelyn Extine as Ivanka.
Thomas, Renaissance Artistic Director Emeritus, said the production is “an unforgettable theatre-going experience.”
Before each performance, audiences can visit an onstage bar and enjoy Irish pub songs performed by the cast. The actors will perform all songs live, playing their own instruments.
The production will take place at Theatre 166, the Renaissance’s Black Box Theatre, which seats 120 guests per performance.
