MANSFIELD—The Mansfield Division of Police has completed an initial administrative review of the officer-involved shooting, which occurred at 3340 Peterson Rd. Effective September 21, 2021, Officer Paul Webb was reinstated to full duty.
The incident Officer Webb was involved with was on August 4 of this year when Shawn Rose re-entered his house upon hearing the A.S.O.R.T. members coming into the residence and threatened the officers inside, armed with weapons. After several attempts to subdue Rose with non-lethal force, he was shot by two officers: Paul Webb, Jr.-Mansfield PD, an 8-year police veteran, and Officer Rod Roose-Ontario PD, a 10-year police veteran.
The primary investigation is being conducted by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (Ohio BCI) and is still pending. Once Ohio BCI’s independent investigation is completed, it will be presented to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
