MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Mansfield Liederkranz will host Treffen 2025, a German cultural festival, over Labor Day weekend from Aug. 29 to Aug. 31. The event, formally known as “Landenstreffen der Donauschwaben,” will bring together German cultural and heritage clubs, as well as dance groups, from across North America.

This marks the fifth time Mansfield has hosted the festival, which travels to a different city each year. The event will feature a parade, German food and beverages, artisan vendors, and live German music and dance performances.

“Treffen is a truly special event that brings families and friends together from all across the country and Canada,” said Karl Schuster, Liederkranz President. “It’s a celebration of our shared German heritage, traditions, and the strong sense of camaraderie that unites us.”

Seventeen Donauschwaben cultural and dance groups are expected to attend from cities including Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Canadian cities like Toronto and Windsor. With an estimated attendance of 1,200 to 1,500 people, the festival is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy.

According to Lee Tasseff, President of Destination Mansfield–Richland County, the event presents a “wonderful opportunity for economic growth.”

“We’re excited to showcase Mansfield’s local attractions, hotels, and restaurants to visitors from across North America,” Tasseff said.
