MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Today at approximately 12:06 p.m. Mansfield authorities responded to reports of gunshot wounds at a residence located at 927 Woodville Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a father and son, aged 40 and 9, respectively, inside the home.
Emergency responders transported the young boy to OhioHealth, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the 40-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the Mansfield Division of Police, alongside the Richland County Coroner’s Office, are probing the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary evidence suggests a possible murder-suicide, but official conclusions have yet to be drawn.
Authorities have chosen not to release the names of the individuals involved.
