MANSFIELD—The Mansfield Division of Police is pleased to announce the commencement of the highly anticipated 2023 “Safety Town Program.” Established in 1937 by Mansfield Police Officer Frend Boals, the “Safety Town” initiative continues to uphold its educational legacy, providing pre-kindergarten children with vital traffic and personal safety tips and awareness.
The program, built on an educational platform, aims to equip young children with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate their surroundings safely. By instilling early safety practices, “Safety Town” contributes to fostering a culture of preparedness and awareness in the community.
Parents of children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2023 are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable opportunity. The Mansfield Division of Police invites all eligible children to participate in the program, which will be held at the Spanish Immersion School (Brinkerhoff School) located at 240 Euclid Avenue. Sessions will run from 9 am to noon each morning.
To ensure a smooth and efficient experience, the program has been divided into three sessions based on the Mansfield City elementary school your child will attend in the upcoming academic year. This arrangement allows attendees to familiarize themselves with their future classmates and promotes a sense of community among the young learners.
Below are the dates for this year’s sessions:
FIRST SESSION: June 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23 (closed on June 19th) Schools: Woodland, Foundation Academy, Spanish Immersion, Madison

THIRD SESSION: July 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 Schools: Sherman, Discovery, Springmill Mansfield Area Y, Temple Christian Open enrollment

Children whose schools are not listed above will be assigned to a session with other children from the same school district. However, pre-registration is mandatory for all children attending Safety Town, and the registration cut-off for each session is one week prior to its start.
