GALION—Unable to receive the appropriate legal remedy to her allegations, a Galion personal trainer and yoga instructor has filed a civil suit against a business owner in Richland County.
Aaron Kegley, 37, of Mansfield, is accused of raping a Galion woman at his place of business on Koogle Road in Mansfield last April.
According to a civil suit filed in Richland County Common Pleas Court, the victim (unnamed at this time) was Kegley’s personal fitness trainer. Kegley also participated in yoga classes taught by the victim at the Galion YMCA in January of 2020.
According to the victim, Kegley called her on the evening of April 9, 2021, from a place in Mansfield. Kegley described this location as unsafe. Kegley told the victim he was at risk of being mugged and had no way home. Concerned for Kegley’s safety, the victim drove to Kegley’s described location.
According to the victim, she arrived at the destination Kegley had given her. Upon her arrival, she noticed marks on Kegley’s arms and that Kegley had no vehicle.
At Kegley’s request, the victim drove Kegley to a gas station and other locations before Kegley told the victim he needed to retrieve items from his business. Kegley had no keys on hand to the business. Kegley then called someone to meet them at the business on Koogle Road.
According to allegations, Bobby Cushard arrived to unlock the business. Both Kegley and Cushard convinced the victim to go inside the business with them because she would not be safe waiting in her vehicle alone.
According to the report, Kegley and Cushard consumed alcohol in the building. After Cushard left the business, Kegley locked the door behind him, leaving only Kegley and the victim alone inside the building.
The victim was then pinned against a truck and then slammed onto a concrete floor, according to the allegations. Despite repeated pleas to stop, the defendant violently raped the victim. According to the victim, Kegley threatened to slam her head into the concrete floor as the victim continued to beg Kegley to stop.
Allegedly, after Kegley stopped raping the victim, he threatened her, warning her that he knew where her mother lived and who lived in the household.
Kegley allegedly told the victim she could not tell anyone what had happened and that his wife could never find out about the incident.
According to allegations, Kegley continued harassing the victim after the rape. This harassment included driving by her home, place of employment, and at the YMCA of Galion. Due to the continued stalking of the victim, the YMCA of Galion has banned Kegley.
