BUCYRUS — One man was transported by medical helicopter after being injured by a falling limb Wednesday morning.
According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel were paged at approximately 10:15 a.m. to a report of a tree limb that fell on a man in the woods in the 5000 block of Connely Road.
According to initial reports heard via scanner, the man suffered a chest injury caused by the limb.
An off-road utility vehicle was used by medical personnel to retrieve the man from the woods.
According to responders on scene, he was transported by medical helicopter to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
Further identifying information was not released due to notification needing to be made to the victim’s family.
According to neighbors of the property, a contractor was in the woods to log out lumber. A family member of the property owner confirmed the victim was him.
Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department and Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
The scene was cleared by 11:30 a.m.
