A Bloomville man appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court Wednesday afternoon to answer a charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Thirty-one-year-old Gregory Zieber pleaded guilty to the felony three charge.

Zieber had engaged in sexual conduct with a person between the ages of 13 and 16 from Jan. 1 to Jan. 22, 2013. He was arrested on Jan. 25.

Judge Russell Wiseman sentenced Zieber to 36 months in prison, though he will be credited for the 293 days he has already served in jail. Zieber must register as a Tier I sex offender every year for 15 years. Once he is released from prison, Zieber will also be placed on mandatory post-release control for five years. He must pay a $500 fine and have not contact with the victim.

A felony four charge of pandering obscenity involving a minor was dismissed per Zieber’s agreement with the State.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jason Denzer of Bucyrus pleaded guilty to duty to register, a fourth-degree felony.
Denzer, who had been found guilty in 2005, failed to register as a sex offender on Sept. 12, 2013. He was sentenced to three years on community control and fined $750.
