Brandon Smith, 36, may be serving time in the Huron County jail but he won’t be getting out of his Crawford County prison sentence any time soon.

Smith had pleaded guilty to a fifth degree breaking and entering charge in September 2011 and had been placed on community control for three years. Since then, He took a 32 inch TV from the Norwalk Walmart, failed to report to his parole office visits on two occasions, and tested positive for four different controlled substances.

Smith was sentenced to one year in prison for his community control violations and has been credited for 275 days already served. He must report to the Crawford County jail by 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 9 to be transported prison and to serve out his remaining 90 days.

It may be over 12 years late but Christopher Cole was finally arraigned on four charges Monday. Cole, 34, of Bucyrus, is facing a felony three cultivation of marijuana charge, a felony three possession of drugs charge, a felony four preparation of drugs for sale charge, and a felony five possession of drugs charge. Judge Russell Wiseman released Cole on a personal recognizance bond.

James Cady, 25, of Bucyrus, appeared in Common Pleas Court for a hearing on motions made pertaining to his pending case. Wiseman granted an expert fees motion in an amount not to exceed $1,500 for the appointment of an expert, a mitigating evidence motion, and a suppression motion that would allow attorney Adam Stone to submit a selected portion of a video interview.

Cady is facing a felony two felonious assault charge.

James Williams, 26, was granted judicial release Monday afternoon. He was placed on community control for three years. Williams had pleaded guilty to a second degree felonious assault charge in March and was sentenced to a four-year prison sentence.
