BUCYRUS — A Galion man pleaded guilty in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Monday to smuggling drugs into the Crawford County Jail.

Cadman Sigler, 33, entered a guilty plea to one count of illegal conveyance of a controlled substance into a detention facility, a third-degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison and one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to 12 months in prison.

In a plea negotiation, Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Sigler to 12 months in prison on the third-degree felony and six months on the fifth-degree felony for a total of 18 months in prison.

Sigler will forfeit all drug-related property to the Crawford County Sheriff. He will receive 61 days of jail time credit.

In other court action, Darren Conley. 29, of Galion pleaded guilty to one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison and one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to 12 months in prison.

Based on a plea agreement, Leuthold sentenced Conley to 12 months in prison on the third-degree felony and six months in prison on the fifth-degree felony for a total of 18 months in prison. Conley will receive 58 days of jail time credit.

Haley Walters, 27, of Galion pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Leuthold sentenced her to a flat six months in prison. She will forfeit all drug-related property to the Galion Police Department and will receive 32 days of jail time credit.

Jason Utz, 46, of Bucyrus was sentenced to a flat six months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to 12 months in prison. Utz thanked the court for allowing him a delay in sentencing to seek medical treatment.

Tim Gulling, 60, of Bucyrus pleaded guilty to improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony punishable with up to 18 months in prison. In a plea negotiation, Leuthold sentenced Gulling to five years of community control. He was ordered to forfeit the firearm, a handgun, to police. He was also ordered to have drug and alcohol assessment and follow up treatment as required.
