Travis Tolar had his day in court, albeit a little later and a little more somber than it may have been last week when originally scheduled.

Travis Tolar

The 36-year-old Tolar reported last week for a hearing on his case in which he was charged with third-degree felony theft. Free on bond at the time Tolar walked away from the court which, in turn, resulted in a bench warrant being issued.

Tolar returned on Monday and pleaded guilty to an amended charge of felony 4 theft. Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced him to the maximum allowable 18 months in prison and ordered him to pay restitution in the amount of $4,278.12. The victim in the case was elderly.

Tolar was represented by Galion attorney Grant Garverick.

Chelsea Griffin

A Toledoan was back in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Monday to answer allegations she violated the terms of her community control. Chelsea Griffin was convicted in 2015 of felony 5 drug possession after been unsuccessful in the court’s intervention in lieu of conviction program.

The 28-year-old Griffin was alleged by APA Officer Mark Alspach of changing addresses without informing parole authorities and failing to report to required meetings.

The judge entered a denial on behalf of Griffin, assigned Bucyrus attorney Brad Starkey to represent her and set her bond at $50,000.
