BUCYRUS — Lucas Conn of Crestline appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday to plead guilty to possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony punishable with up to 12 months in prison.

Conn was not prison-eligible, so Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold placed him of five years of community control. He ordered Conn to complete drug and alcohol assessments and to complete whatever treatment was ordered. Conn will forfeit all drug related property to the Crestline Police Department.

Conn’s attorney, Tani Eyer, told the court that her client had already scheduled his assessment.

“That’s good to hear. Remember if you don’t do all that is required of you while on community control, you’ll go to prison.” Leuthold said.

In other court action, Tabitha McGlothlin, 28, of Crestline pleaded guilty to violating the terms and conditions of her community control. McGlothlin admitted to being charged with DUI, driving under suspension, use of alcohol and use of cocaine.

McGlothlin was sentenced to 16 months in prison in 2016 and was granted judicial release in 2017.

Before sentencing McGlothlin, Leuthold read a letter a tearful McGlothlin was unable to read in open court. Leuthold called the letter heartbreaking. McGlothlin told Leuthold that if he would give her one more chance, she would not disappoint him.

“Look, I take no pleasure in this. This is a judicial release case. I am going to help you but not the way you think,” Leuthold said. “I am going to impose the remaining sentence, but I will recommend that you receive transitional control to a halfway house. I know you have fought hard, but you fell off the rails in a big way and the court cannot ignore that.”
