A lot of will he or won’t he went into the lead up to Stanley Hunt’s jury trial. With a projector screen up and evidence bags sitting on the tables in preparation of Tuesday’s trial, Hunt decided to plead guilty to breaking and entering.
“Quite frankly, I’d be justified in giving Mr. Hunt the maximum sentence,” Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold stated,
after reprimanding Hunt for his somewhat disrespectful behavior during the hearing.
The 26-year-old Bucyrus man received eight months in prison for the fifth-degree felony, which will run concurrent to a misdemeanor probation violation sentence. He was also fined $750 and ordered to pay $50 in restitution to Will Pifer Repair Service. As a condition of his plea agreement, an additional misdemeanor charge will be dismissed.
