MANSFIELD – Earlier Wednesday afternoon around 12:27 PM, Mansfield Police responded to an injury crash at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 540 North Trimble Road. Upon the arrival of first responders, sixty-nine-year-old Gary McQuillen, the driver of a 1995 Ford F-150 pick-up truck was found unresponsive in the drive-thru area of the business. McQuillen was injured after striking a steel post, while in the line of the drive-thru.
McQuillen suffered injuries to his upper extremities and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other occupants were in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the crash.
There was no indication at the scene that alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash and toxicology results will be pending an autopsy.
