Some second chances were squandered Monday. A man and woman were sentenced to prison in Crawford County Common Pleas Court after their admissions to allegations of violating probation.

Thirty-nine-year-old David Charlton of Bucyrus was sentenced to nine months in prison following his admission to allegations of positive drug tests on three occasions. Charlton’s original conviction was for drug possession in February of this year.

Twenty-five-year-old Sheree Pfeifer of Bucyrus was sentenced to the balance of a 36-month prison sentence. Pfeifer’s probation violations stemmed from being unsuccessfully terminated from CROSSWAEH. She had also taken part in the local ISAT program and failed to complete that program as well.

Pfeifer was originally convicted of two counts of drug trafficking and one count of drug possession and served 12 months of the original 36-month sentence before being released. Judge Sean Leuthold agreed to approve transitional control for Pfeifer this time should she qualify for the program with prison officials.
