Saturday evening was not a night for the faint of heart at Lowe-Volk Park. It was a night for lots of fun even if some of the park visitors were scary.
The Crawford Park District held its annual Halloween Family Fun Night and the monsters, clowns, ninjas and even little princesses came out with their families to enjoy crafts, a story walk and traditional Halloween activities like bobbing for apples and a hay ride. Colonel Crawford sixth grader Hope Sharp talks about the fun she had.
“It was really fun,” Hope said. “We went bobbing for apples and got pumpkins and went through on the hay ride and we are going through the woods and it was really fun, it was a lot of fun.”
Some of that fun included the Story Walk by the Bucyrus Public Library.
“This is our annual Halloween Family Fun Night and we have all things family oriented for sure. One thing that is different this year is we have the Bucyrus Public Library here with their Story Walk and it is a Pumpkin Story, it’s great. There are 17 different stations or pages of a book to read,” Park District Director Bill Fisher said. “We have Galion Cub Scouts here with a table they are bobbing for apples, Great fun huh?
“The hayride is always popular. A haunted hike in the woods headed up by David Lady and his wife Laura with a lot of Friends helping too of course. We also have just a straight night hike with flashlights. Kids all over the place having fun coloring pumpkins and doing a craft. Everything that you can think of that would be fun for Halloween is happening.”
