Press release
The 2013 United Way Campaign has raised 70 percent of its $300,000 goal so far this year. With the clock ticking on this year’s campaign, they will need participation from everyone in order to fully fund the partner agencies. This year’s campaign will remain open through the end of February 2014 in hopes of reaching 100 percent of the goal.
The United Way of Crawford County helps support over 30 programs at 19 partner agencies throughout the county. Every dollar donated to the campaign stays local and is awarded to programs that meet targeted outcomes in the areas of education, income, and health.
“As we look towards closing out the 2013 campaign, I am reminded that the vital work of our partner agencies happens because of our donors.” said Amber Wertman, Executive Director. “We do not receive any state or federal funds, so from year to year we rely solely on local monies raised to fund these quality programs throughout the county.”
“This was our first year united as one county wide organization and the support has been wonderful,” Wertman said. “I’ve been inspired by the generosity our communities have demonstrated.”
Numerous individuals, organizations and companies have already donated. Our Pacesetters, Covert Machine, Crossroads Candles and United Bank, have exceeded their 2013 donation goals. The top 10 companies who have conducted internal campaigns so far this year are noted below. Every dollar donated is appreciated and counts toward United Way’s mission of creating a better life for all.
“Now the success of this year’s campaign will rely on response from those remaining businesses, organizations and individuals. I have confidence that we will reach our goal but it will take a special commitment from our entire county to get there.” said Wertman.
