The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Ohio announces the positions held by Delegate to the 68th annual session of Buckeye Girls State which took place June 15-21st at the University of Mount Union, Alliance, Ohio. Eligibility is based on completion of junior year in high school, interest in government and current events, strong leadership abilities and above average scholastic standings.

The young ladies sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary Colonel Crawford Unit 181, Bucyrus, Ohio held the following positions at Buckeye Girls State:

Laura Metzger, Buckeye Central High School
Taryn Ramsey, Bucyrus High School—City Recreation Commissioner
Katelyn Cramer, Colonel Crawford High School—City Board of Health
Alexis Waterer, Colonel Crawford High School—City Director of Board of Health
Stormy Furney, Wynford High School—City School Board Member
Allison Heacock, Wynford High School—City Park Board
Marissa Severns, Wynford High School—City Fire Chief
Tessa Starner, Wynford High School—City Councilman

At Buckeye Girls State the delegates learn about local, county and state government function and operation. The students were divided into two political parties to gain knowledge of how the two party system in our country works. Activities include legislative sessions, campaigning, party rallies, debating and voting.
